Gunraagh has joined the Next Generation India Fellowship as the Sustainable Cities Fellow. His work is focussed on sustainable urban development, primarily through efficient resource management and circular closed-loop systems. A passionate advocate for waste management, environmental rejuvenation, and climate action, he has been at the forefront since 2020.
Leading the ‘Better Bhalswa’ initiative, Gunraagh focuses on urban rejuvenation around Delhi’s legacy dumpsites. This project underscores the importance of community insights and involvement in developing comprehensive solutions and mobilizing stakeholders. His efforts encompass research, outreach, and design, contributing significantly to urban improvement and regeneration initiatives.
Gunraagh’s work extends to managing municipal and legacy wastes, promoting sustainable practices through stakeholder collaborations and product innovations. A notable example of his innovative approach is ‘Dumpcrete’, a project exploring upcycled concrete products utilizing legacy wastes like soil-like materials, bottom ashes, and silts. This venture is part of his association with the Creatives of our Future cohort under the Swarovski Foundation and the UNDP Youth4Climate Sparking Solutions programme.
Beyond his primary work, Gunraagh is actively involved in assisting others in developing solutions. He provides technical support to artists, contributing to urban art projects alongside notable artists like Daku. He also aids technocrats in a non-technical capacity, enhancing scientific innovations with his talent in storytelling, narrative building, and content creation. His multifaceted thinking and interdisciplinary skills have been pivotal in creating and supporting impactful initiatives.
